Committees are an important part of the mandate of a Parliamentarian. As Member of Parliament for Ottawa-Orléans, Royal Galipeau is Vice-Chair of the Joint House of Commons and Senate Standing Committee on the Scrutiny of Regulations (REGS).
The Joint House of Commons and Senate Standing Committee on the Scrutiny of Regulations (REGS) studies particular regulations that may be in contradiction with one another or may impede the success or progress of individuals, businesses, organizations or government institutions. They make recommendations to departments and Ministers regarding certain regulations and see to streamline the operations of government. As Vice-Chair of this committee, Royal spends a small amount of time dealing with procedural and administrative tasks from this committee.
